"Buildings, too, are children of Earth and Sun."
-Frank Lloyd Wright
Frank Lloyd Wright, whose philosophy was to marry open architecture with
the natural surroundings, served as the inspiration for the architectural
design of the Emory Conference Center Hotel.
We have taken his philosophy of combining nature and architecture a step
further and are pleased to have been placed on the coveted list of
Environmentally Certified Hotels as of August 2004.
Green Seal,
an independent, nonprofit environmental standard setting and
certification organization, certifies hotels as "green" based on a very
stringent list of environmentally protective policies.
This list includes state regulatory compliance, as well as specific
requirements such as waste minimization; refuse and recycling; water
and energy efficiency; and conservation management.
Green Seal
enacted the Certification program to help travelers, meeting
planners and government and corporate travel buyers identify environmentally
responsible lodging properties.
