Serving guests at Emory Conference Center Hotel since 2003, Ronnie Istre is a conference planner extraordinaire. With more than 38 years in customer service, Mr. Istre began his career in sales and then migrated into customer service because of his love and talent in helping people.
A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. Istre is committed to building dynamic programs for his clients and watching them come to fruition. He is dedicated to excellence and getting to know each client’s individual needs. He inspires his team to go beyond what is expected and deliver exceptional service, ensuring each conference is a success from start to finish.
Since joining Emory Conference Center Hotel, Mr. Istre was promoted from conference planner to associate director, and most recently, his present title of Director. He has received numerous awards and industry recognitions including Manager of the Year at Emory Conference Center Hotel, and Conference Center Planning Manger of the Year, an award given by Crestline Hotels & Resorts, LLC, which operates the hotel and conference center.
Mr. Watson’s title is Concierge Supervisor, but he is also the official Ambassador of the Emory Conference Center Hotel, where guests know him by name. He is a charter team member at the hotel joining the property when it first opened in 1995. Born in Dallas, Mr. Leotis brings nearly four decades of hospitality industry experience. He began his career as a doorman at the Houston Marriott and was promoted to Bell Captain. In 1982 he was part of the reopening team at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, where he eventually was promoted to Director of Guest Services, before coming to Emory Conference Center Hotel.
Mr. Watson is committed to delivering memorable service to each and every guest and has been recognized for his warm and gracious service with numerous awards. He has been named Concierge of the Year by the Concierge Society of Atlanta and is a two-time winner of the prestigious Susan Sturges Distinguished Service Award given by the Concierge Society of Atlanta. He has also received the President’s Club Award, a recognition given by Crestline Hotels & Resorts, LLC, which operates the Emory Hotel & Conference Center.
Robert Chaffin is a multi-faceted culinary professional with more than 25 years of food service experience. Joining The Emory Conference Center Hotel in October 2017, Chaffin brings his French cooking techniques and gastronomy talent to his role of hotel executive chef.
Since graduating with a culinary degree from the Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando, Fla. in 2009, Chaffin has worked in some of the most coveted kitchens around the country.
Now at the Emory Conference Center, Chaffin has implemented his spirited new Southern American inspired philosophies to the hotel’s dining concept, Club Room, and throughout the hotel’s food and beverage offerings. His American and French culinary background and penchant for subtle flavor complexities has influenced the restaurant’s ingredient driven menus with superior quality products from local vendors and farms.
